6 Easy Toddler Meal Idea That My Son Loved

Recently I started challenging myself to “cook” frequently for my son’s lunch rather than only making him one thing like scrambled eggs. I’ve been looking at toddler meal ideas often and here are a few ideas that I came up with.

Posts like these really helped me find inspiration and I hope to help give others ideas as well. All of these lunches took me less than 15 minutes to make and are fairly easy to make!

I’ll show the picture of the meal and then explain how I made it. Let me know in the comments which toddler meal idea was your favorite! Please keep in mind that my one-year-old is not picky at all, so some of these meals might not work out the same for you.

Here are 6 easy toddler meal ideas!

Pancakes, turkey bacon, and strawberries

This meal is pretty simple! Instead of making a whole batch of pancakes I only made enough batter to make a few small pancakes. Then I cooked up some turkey bacon and cut up some strawberries to add some more substance and variety. He loved this lunch! But who doesn’t love breakfast foods?

Ham, Cheese, and Spinach omelet, Gerber Puff Stars, and gingerbread-shaped toast.

I threw together an omelet by whisking up 1 egg, ham, spinach, and cheese then cooked it on the stove. Then made some toast and used a Christmas gingerbread cookie cutter to make it fun!

Bowtie Alfredo, Heart Shaped toast, and Peas

Toddler meal idea #3 is simply bowtie pasta with Alfredo sauce, toast, and peas! I used the smaller pot I had to just make a very small serving of pasta. Then I cooked some steamable frozen peas and cut the toast with a sandwich cutter. My son is a sucker for peas so this meal was a huge success!

Grapes, Raspberries, Strawberries, and Organic Cheddar Bunnies

This one is a super easy lunch idea. I just cut up some grapes, raspberries, and strawberries. Then I threw on some of Annie’s organic cheddar bunnies and called it a day. He loved this and I loved how easy it was!

Chocolate Chip Eggo Waffles, Thinly Sliced Apples, and Banana.

Another super lazy but overall filling toddler meal idea. This took me maybe 5 minutes and he loved it! I just popped in a chocolate chip waffle and cut up an apple and banana. This one is extremely low effort and not exactly healthy, but IMO what matters is they get a filling meal.

Sauteed Mushrooms and Spinach and Apple Fries

On this day I happened to have some mushrooms in my fridge so I cut some up and sauteed them along with spinach in a small amount of butter. I seasoned these with garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Then I sliced up an apple in fry-like slices and he loved it!

I hope this post gave you a little boost of inspiration!

I know posts similar to this one gave me lots of inspiration to me when I wanted to start giving him more than just little snacks all day. Look at us! Conquering our depression together!
