Latest Obsessions.

A few new things I’ve become obsessed with lately. Must share…

tarte cheek stain — this was a last minute impulse buy at Sephora and it is now my favorite tool in my make up bag. It comes in several shades and I’m dubbing it a summer must have!!

$5 cookie greetings from Cheryl & Co — Mike sent me one of these as a little yay fun gift at my new job. You pick a message box and it ships for $5 total. A super fun little hello to send to those you love.

The place I live. Before we had Miles I still loved where I lived but I don’t think I fully appreciated all that is Vermilion. The first two summers we had Miles weren’t as fun since he could ‘do’ a lot. He was a tiny infant the first summer and last summer we did a little more outside but not as much. This summer we are outside every night riding bikes, going to the beach, hitting up the ice cream shops and every single playset in a 5 mile radius. Blogging and working out have taken a serious backseat but I wouldn’t trade that for these sweet summer nights with the boys!

This tip from Iowa Girl Eats on a ridiculously easy way to add volume to flat hair.

OK, I think that’s it for now. Enjoy!

Hodge Podge.

I have no meaningful message for today’s blog post (wait, I never do) but a hodge podge of items.

So far #sub25fish5k is going well. Yesterday I got home around 5:30, plopped my 35 lb kiddo in the jogging stroller and headed out for 2 miles in the 80* weather. It went surprisingly well. I haven’t ran with the jogging stroller for a REALLY long time. I usually leave that to Mike. But Miles had a blast and I got an extra good quickie workout.

Today I went to my first spin class in months. I ride my bike a lot in the trainer in the winter and now outdoors so I’m not stranger to spinnin’ these legs around but I have been craving a good ole spin class sesh. Luckily my awesome new work place has an onsite gym where they offer FREE spin class multiple times per week. The spots usually fill up pretty quick but I snagged a seat in the 5:15 class today. It was a great workout. Like I said, my butt is definitely in biking shape but my rides don’t usually involve jumps and all that jazz. Let’s just say I was DRIPPING by the end.

Speaking of SPINNING – if you are local to CLE and want to spin for a great cause scoot on over to Shibani’s blog and check out the details for this years Happy Hour ride to support Second Hand Mutts on June 8th. I went last year and it was a lot of fun and great way to meet lots of cool people from the CLE area… oh, and SUPPORT THE PUPS!

A few weeks ago we had some family photos done to celebrate Miles turning 2. We’ve used the same photographer, On a Limb, for his 6 month and 1 year photos as well. Melinda rocks. I mean seriously, how awesome are these…

There are so many good ones. I can’t wait to plaster the house and my desk with his cute face.

Soooo what’s up with you these days?!

Bye bye yoga pants.

Well, I will soon be starting my new job (May 7th!!) and I’ll be giving up my full time remote working status. I may still work remotely a day or two a week but mostly I’ll be in the office. Lucky for me it’s a very casual office where I can wear pretty much whatever I’d like. But it’s still definitely time to update the closet. Here’s a few of the goodies I’ve already purchased…

I also have a shopping date on the calendar with Heather in a few weeks. I definitely need to score some new jeans and some other staples like tanks, tees, cardis and some other goodies. I’m realllllly into trouser jeans right now, where are the cutest ones you’ve seen? I also desperately want a pink pair.

What spring and summer looks do you think are must have? Help me update! I’ve been on team yoga pants for a while!

New swim suits have finally be acquired. Remember when I was dreading it? I haven’t had a new bikini since approximately spring of 2009 and this body is not the same as it used to be. Not necessarily worse but just different.

I purchased this one from Target:

targetbikini

And this one from J.CREW:

jcrewbikini

The J.CREW one hasn’t arrive yet, so I hope I’m not disappointed when it does! Time to actually do some ab work methinks!

Where do you get your bikini’s from? Do you get a new one every year?
