I feel like I was living in an endless cycle of chopped up weekend lately. Sorry Independence Day, but I do not like you being on a Wednesday. I know, it’s selfish of me but true.

We spent the evening of the 3rd grilling out, hanging out around the bonfire and with family and friends. It was a laid back night.

Miles slept over at Grandma and Grandpas so Mike and I could go home and sleep in. It was pretty awesome. We slept til 7:30… sadly that is amazing… then rode our bikes to get coffee, walked the beach and just bummed around for a bit.

Our actual Independence Day was super low key at home involving chores, cartoons and being annoyed with fireworks from the neighbors.

Thursday Mike and I both had to work. Luckily I worked from home so it was nice to just hammer out some work and get a quick start to a mini road trip with Miles. We were off to my beloved central Ohio to see my family a bit, have a sleep over and make a quick visit to see my HS BFF Kristi and her new gorgeous babygirl, Maci.

We were back in Vermilion by mid-afternoon Friday and ready for a weekend of fun. Saturday was farmers marketing, visiting family and a final stop at the annual Goodman bash. Mike and I made a valiant effort to snag the cornhole championship but I eventually crumbled and let down my partner. However, Nate & Brittany went on to win after beating Heather and Jay!

And Mike and I finished up the weekend with a movie date to see Savages. I really enjoyed it and totally recommend it! Esp if you like Oliver Stone flicks.
