Last year I was totally jealous of all the lucky ladies who were chosen to be on the 2011 Hood to Coast Nuun teams. After a little debate I decide to go for it this year. I was mostly hesitant because all the ladies they picked last year seemed to be supppppper speedy and also scheduling wise I have a lot going on around that time with work. But I thought hey, there’s no time like the present!

I’ve been a nuun addict since last summer. It’s gotten me through countless training runs and recovery, my first full marathon and even a few hangovers.

I would be so excited and honored to be chosen for one of the Nuun HTC teams for 2012! I have no big race plans yet for the fall and would love to make this my focus and maybe actually do some hill training too!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

WIN – We had our usual Thursday Chipotle today. Seriously, I can just NOT cook dinner on Thursday.

LOSS – Now I have a food baby.

WIN – Tomorrow is Friday.

LOSS – Our weekend is jam packed. It’s all fun stuff, so it’s a win but it means the weekend will go too fast.

WIN – The Masters are in a WEEK people. A WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK.

DOUBLE WIN – I have next Thursday and Friday off so I’m going to be in a golf induced stupor. Excellent.

I love cycling. I’ve had my road bike for almost a year and a half now and I adore it. I love riding it on the trainer and out on the roads around Vermilion. However, I’ve been wanting a cruiser/commuter bike as well. I mean we live in summer town USA. I need something comfy to ride around on!

I finally went out on Saturday determined to come home with a new cushy ride. I was seriously back within an hour with this lovely lady. It was love at first sight.

I’ve already added a bell and a cup holder and the basket has been ordered. She is the caddy of bikes. I might not drive my car anywhere within 5 miles of my home for the next several months!

I’ve already ridden her every day, twice for errands uptown and tonight for a leisure ride with the boys. We also purchased this sweet seat for Miles to cruise with us!

I’m a nerd. No, really. I know being nerd chic is somewhat popular these days but I was a nerd before being a nerd was cool. Wait, so am I a hipster nerd? OK, enough labels.

The Nerdist Podcast

Sometime last year I discovered the Nerdist podcast and fell. in. love.

Now I love all things Nerdist, including it’s original mastermind, Chris Hardwick. Seriously if you are into nerd culture, comedy, and cool people with interesting things to say you need to be listening to The Nerdist podcast. Sidenote: I highly recommend the iPhone app ‘Downcast’ for your podcast needs!

Viggle

A long long time ago Mike and I started using GetGlue to ‘check in’ to shows and movies we were watching. Recently Mike told me there is a new app that operates in a similar fashion where you ‘check in’ to your shows and earn points to redeem for gift cards. I was skeptical but now I’m a believer. I’ve already cashed in for a free movie ticket and a free $10 Sephora gift card. It’s ahhmahhzing. Get on that download ASAP!

Zombies

I admit, I’ve jumped on the Zombie bandwagon due to The Walking Dead. I also really enjoy the movie Zombieland. I don’t claim to be a full blown zombiphile but I am working on it. I’ve order the first book of The Walking Dead comics and I’m pretty excited about it.

Also if you’d like to discuss The Walking Dead finale and what a horrible mom Lori is and what an ass-face kid Carl is I’m totally down for that.

New swim suits have finally be acquired. Remember when I was dreading it? I haven’t had a new bikini since approximately spring of 2009 and this body is not the same as it used to be. Not necessarily worse but just different.
