Shakeology Round II

I’ve decided to do another round of a Shakeology cleanse. My last one was 12 weeks ago and I’m hoping this will help me ramp up my weight loss again, give myself a strong start in season III of family biggest loser and help me feel refreshed. I’ve been dealing with an awful headache for over a week and it’d be nice to kick it to the curb.

You can read about my last shakeology cleanse experience here.

This time around I’m teaming up with Styrch from Pretty in Dayton and we’re both doing the cleanse at the same time. It’s always good to have a partner in crime! Styrch is on a weight loss quest as well and is doing fabulous, she has already lose 47 lbs!

Here’s my Shakeology cleanse plan:

Breakfast

Black coffee, Shakeology shake (water only, no milk)

Snack

Clementine or apple, green tea

Lunch

Shakeology shake

Snack

Green tea

Dinner

Salad w/ veggies, 4 oz of chicken, low fat italian and Shakeology shake

+ lots of water all day

I could do the salad at lunch, but I prefer to have it at dinner so I can sit down and eat dinner with Mike & Miles. But if I’m ravenously hungry any of the three days at lunch time I’ll have the salad at lunch instead. Last time around I was a bit hungry, mostly around 4 PM when I always get hungry but it really wasn’t that bad in terms of hunger pangs.

Wish me luck! I’ll keep everyone posted on my progress and hope that Thursday’s weigh in rocks my socks! (Last time I lost almost 2% with the cleanse)

Have you done a cleanse of any sort before? Which one? Results?

Let’s talk rewards.

I like small goals and rewards. Big overall goals are great, but I like little steps to get there. As you know, my ultimate goal is to fit into those ever so lovely goal jeans. So I don’t have a specific lb target in mind, just a good guestimate of what I need to lose to get there. I set that target as 22% of my body weight to lose. As of Thursday’s weigh in I’m at 5.57%. I have my eye on that 10%!

By losing 10% of your body weight you stand to gain these awesome rewards:

  • lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure
  • lower risk of type 2 diabetes
  • lower chance of stroke
  • lower chance of depression
  • more energy, motivation
  • & much more!

So I look to you, my awesome readers to help me choose my 10% reward!

The results are in…

The Good

Ohio Blogging meetup last night at AMP 150 Cleveland! This was double good for me. I not only got to meet some awesome bloggers in person, but also finally got to try this great food at AMP 150 I’ve been hearing about for months.

We got started with Chef Ellis Cooley describing AMP 150‘s approach to food (local, seasonal, tasty!) and describing some of the complimentary food they were providing to us. Bloggers LOVE good food in case you didn’t know!

Chef Ellis

This ranged from flatbread pizzas, housemade potato chips, hand cut sea salt fries, free range chicken wings, roasted cauliflower and a few other dishes I missed the description on! The spread was impressive!

I also couldn’t resist ordering the double bacon cheeseburger! I could only handle half. It was divine!

Hello, beautiful.

We all introduced ourselves and our blogs. It was so nice to put faces with URLs and learn more about everyone. I wish I would have had more time because I didn’t get to chat with everyone. Kasey also talked about an upcoming event I’m volunteering with called Twestival. Twestival is on March 24th worldwide and we are planning the Cleveland event. Today is the deadline to submit any charities you’d like to be considered to benefit from our fundraising! Be sure to save the date for March 24th as well, we’re working on a great event! Follow us on twitter @TwestivalCLE.

I also got to catch up with friend Sarah, who I haven’t seen in quite a while!

Two moms out on the town! :)

It was so great to meet everyone and I can’t wait to get together again. The night went by way too quickly and I have a lot more chatting to do! Thanks to Ohio Blogging for organizing the event, Chef Ellis and Scott (our great server) at AMP 150 Cleveland (YOU MUST GO EAT THERE!) and all my fellow bloggers who were nice enough to chat with me! Oh, and thanks to my wonderful husband for letting me get out for the night!

Here’s a link to Poise in Parma‘s recap of last night.

Now, The Bad

Snow! Snow! Snow! I know it’s February and it’s Cleveland but I am OVER IT. I spent my morning shoveling. Not sure why. By the time I finished I couldn’t even tell I did anything. Argh!

But I did get a little workout in shoveling for an hour.

Post Shoveling.

Yes, my hair is an icicle.

Trusty snow boots!

Hope everyone has a safe day! Stay warm!

Season II comes to an end.

Today was the final weigh in for our family Biggest Loser Season II. I was leading the entire season until last week. My husband killed it last week and this week he did decent again and I had an ok week after being sick for 3 days, very little working out and not the very best food choices but not enough to edge him out. So now we’re just waiting on everyone else to report their final results to find out who won! I reported a .76% loss this week for 5.57% total loss.

Last week’s calorie tracking:

Saturday can be blamed on the a a a a a alcohol. Oh, and pizza!

This week (so far) calorie tracking:

But there is no rest for the wicked. We used today’s final weigh in as our initial weigh in for Season III! (Summer is JUST around the corner after all!) So we’re on for another 12 weeks and I think I’m going to win this time around (positive attitude, right?). Mike has lost a fabulous 35+ lbs and is now going to start doing more lifting and less cardio. My FIL has also done awesome but will be stiff competition this round. My MIL and mom could always sneak up and beat me too!

Hoping the weather doesn’t take a turn for the worst tonight. I have a blogger meet up to go to! AMP 150 Cleveland tonight, be there!!! And say hello to me if you are there!
